Elon Musk has announced that he is suing Apple, escalating tensions between two of the world’s most powerful tech companies.
The Tesla and SpaceX chief revealed the move late Sunday on his social media platform X, though details of the lawsuit remain sparse. Musk accused Apple of engaging in “monopolistic practices” and hinted that the case will center on the company’s App Store policies and its dominance in mobile ecosystems.
“Apple thinks it can dictate the terms of innovation,” Musk wrote. “This lawsuit will put an end to their stranglehold.”
Apple has not yet responded to Musk’s claims, but the company has long defended its App Store rules as necessary for privacy and security. Regulators in the United States and Europe have been scrutinizing Apple’s policies for years, and Musk’s legal challenge could add new pressure.
Musk has previously clashed with Apple over app fees, platform restrictions, and concerns that Apple might one day ban or limit X from its devices. The lawsuit, if filed, could mark one of the biggest legal battles in Silicon Valley history, pitting two tech titans against each other in a fight over control of the digital marketplace.
